The structure looks something like this:
Animals are studied in isolate as biological organisms.
Subjectivity is methodically excluded because it is difficult to
measure.
The resulting picture shows functional, instinctive, adaptive
systems.
From this, it is concluded that animals are essentially such systems.
Therefore, it is appropriate to treat them exactly as such.
The process thus produces precisely the picture that it later uses as
justification.
The methodological reduction is reinterpreted ontologically.
