Anecdotal case:<\/p>\n<p>A manager at an organization, with an invisible disability, discriminates against a young person with a visible disability, but cloaks their ableism in seemingly anti-ableist rhetoric. How to react?<\/p>\n<p>The fact that a person is categorised as severely disabled does not change the fact that such a person can still walk around in the world with ableist concepts.<\/p>\n<p>If such a person is still in a position that they can exploit to the detriment of people with disabilities, we all have a problem. But it is important to see how to deal with comparable situations and disadvantageous constellations.<\/p>\n<p>Having a disability does not protect you from the fact that you yourself can also harbor problematic attitudes towards other people. This is a circumstance that needs to be addressed and destigmatized.<\/p>\n<p>When a person experiences a form of discrimination by another person with a disability, such problems are often difficult to criticize publicly, and such burdensome experiences often remain unnamed. This is where we as activists should step in and demand open dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>Especially today, when the continuum between disabled, chronically ill, and non-disabled and healthy is becoming increasingly clear, it is also becoming apparent that different forms of disability (continue to) face different types of discrimination.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When people \u201cwith disabilities\u201d discriminate against people with disabilities?!?
